A newly refurbished office building on the western outskirts of Southampton is let following the latest lease transaction by property consultancy Vail Williams.
The firm has also been awarded the property asset management contract for two-storey Hounsdown House at Newmans Copse Road, Hounsdown Business Park.
A software developer signed a six-year lease, at £20 a sq ft, on a 3,505 sq ft ground floor wing.
Nik Cox, a Vail Williams partner leading office transactions in the Solent region, acted for the building’s new landlord, Fastpark Holdings, which occupies a wing of the ground floor as well as one on the first floor.
He said: “Hounsdown House, with two wings on each floor and a total of 14,000 sq ft, has been recently refurbished in line with Grade A market expectations, with comfort cooling and heating, LED lighting, raised floors, upgraded WCs and a new reception.
“Given the internal upgrade, and the office’s strategic location close to the Port of Southampton and the port at Marchwood, as well as the city itself, the New Forest and the M27, we anticipate keen interest in the one remaining wing on the first floor.
“As well as being appointed agents for Hounsdown House, Vail Williams has been instructed with the property asset management.”
Ed Martin, a Southampton-based associate at Vail Williams who manages commercial properties for private clients and pension funds, leads the advisory work, including overseeing maintenance contracts.
